Explosive growth of frameworks and forks and limited resources for delineating feature set borders (can only read so much forum content while choosing a technology) makes platform evaluation more of a gamble than it should be. <br /><br />I believe curation carries a lot of weight here. Quantity of output along the lines of "but it doesn't support X (and therefore sucks)" is huge in IT blogging. That can make it look like complain-spam to a casual reader or a bot - while perhaps helping someone reading in a more focused way decide on a platform choice.
